Review: Comfort Suites Kelowna

Our second night in Kelowna was at Comfort Suites Kelowna. This was a redemption using points I bought a few months ago which again saved me quite some money!

Booking

I booked a night here with 12,000 Choice Privileges Points. I purchased these points with a discount earlier in the year during the Daily Getaways event. The value of $12,000 I paid at that time was about $80, which means I saved over 50% on the hotel cost. The cash rate during the Thanksgiving weekend was about $200 plus taxes.

Location

The hotel is also located on Okanagan Highway where a lot of hotels are. It is two blocks away from Fairfield Inn & Suites Kelowna, our hotel for the first night.

The Room

This hotel is an all-suite property. The definition of a suite may be different from brand to brand, but the basic idea is that a suite will have a dedicated living room space. In our “suite”, the beds and the living room space are separated by a low barrier.

We got the suite with two queen beds. Per the official site, the floor space is 400 sqft. the barrier can clearly be seen in the below picture.

The hallway inside the room was quite spacious. Besides a desk and a chair, there were also a bench and an armchair. There were too many places to sit down!

The bathroom is located near the entrance. It looked pretty standard.

The tub, on the other hand, looked a bit different. We thought it was a jacuzzi but couldn’t get it to work. I still used the tub and took a long and relaxing bath.

Amenities

The hotel also has a waterslide by its indoor pool and hot tub. I guess it is a must-have amenity in any hotel in Kelowna. I wanted to use the hot tub there but ended up using the one in our room. A fitness centre and a business centre are also available. Parking and breakfast are complimentary here.

Breakfast

The hotel offers free breakfast for all guests. It was similar to what we had at Fairfield, and we didn’t have the desire to eat here. We went to Bliss Bakery again for a more decent breakfast and snacks.

Conclusion

Comfort Suites Kelowna is a decent hotel in Kelowna. We didn’t experience any issues here besides the jacuzzi, but we didn’t mind at all. The best thing of this hotel is, of course, how much I saved by using points!
