[Europe Week 1] Dinner @ Julija in Ljubljana, Slovenia

I enjoyed our only meal in Slovenia at Julija, a restaurant near the castle in downtown Ljubljana. I don’t think what I had is traditional Slovenian food, but it was decent nonetheless.

Day Trip to Slovenia

The Food

I found this restaurant on Google Map, where it has very good reviews and ratings.

What I had for dinner was sea bass fillets on a bed of vegetables. I always look for the dishes or ingredients I don’t see often or use at home, and sea basses were one of them. With that being said, I don’t know if it makes sense to have seafood here because Ljubljana is not a coastal city. It was still a solid choice, and I didn’t regret ordering it.

As the name suggested, it was literally grilled sea bass fillets on a bed of vegetables. Everything tasted great, but I don’t think there was anything special with the fish or the vegetables. It was a very typical dish that I could imagine in every European restaurant.

Conclusion

I recommend everyone to try out Julija when visiting Ljubljana, Slovenia. I don’t know if they have the traditional Slovenian food, but what my friends and I had was great. Thanks to Google Map!
