University of Washington (UW) is a famous location to see cherry blossom. This was our last stop of our Seattle road trip in spring. I’ve included a few tips to see the UW cherry blossom in this post.
What we did
The location of the cherry blossom trees is at the Quad in the middle of the campus. We didn’t know the location beforehand, but we managed to see it when we were driving on Stevens Way. There are multiple surface parking lots along the way. I’ve included a link of the campus map at the bottom of this post.
There are two rows of large cherry blossom trees at the Quad, and they were at full blossom in early April. Their colour was almost white with a little bit of pink.
The weather wasn’t great, but there were still a lot of visitors. All people including us were crazily taking pictures. I don’t know if anyone was having a picnic like Japanese people do during hanami.
Spring is the season to see flowers, and there is no reason not to see cherry blossom during this time. The Quad in the University of Washington is one of the best places to see cherry blossom in the city. I am sure you will be amazed by the scene when you are there!
