Review: Fairfield Inn & Suites Seattle Bellevue/Redmond

The first stay of our Seattle road trip was at Fairfield Inn & Suites Seattle Bellevue/Redmond. It is a nice suburban hotel with spacious rooms.

Booking

I booked this hotel with the AAA rate on Marriott’s official site. There was a promotion for new Marriott members. I would earn a free 1-night category 1-5 e-certificate after two stays. Thus, it was a great chance to utilize this promotion by booking two different hotels instead of staying here for both nights.

The room with 2 queen beds under the AAA rate was only $69 USD plus taxes, which was cheaper than I expected. The AAA rates are not only refundable most of the time, but also cheaper than the lowest pre-paid rate.

There are 3 Mariott properties in the same area:

  • Courtyard by Marriott Seattle Bellevue/Redmond
  • Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Seattle Bellevue/Redmond
  • Residence Inn by Marriott Seattle Bellevue

All of them offer competitive rates. I ended up choosing Fairfield because it includes free breakfast and I would earn the most Marriott points (10 points per $1). Courtyard doesn’t provide free breakfast, and at Residence Inn, I can only earn 5 points per $1. Fairfield, in this case, is the best choice.

Location

The hotel is located near the interchange of WA-520 and 148th Avenue Northeast. It is an about 15-minutes drive away from downtown Bellevue. There isn’t anything notable near the hotel.

The room

There are only 4 room types in 2 room sizes in this property. For the three of us, the only option is the room with 2 queen beds that is 210 – 250 sqft big. There are 300-sqft rooms with 1 king bed for 2 guests or fewer only.

We found the room very comfortable and spacious. There is more than enough room for 2 queen beds, a desk, and a cabinet. The bed was comfortable, and my mom and my sister slept very well.

I used the Marriott app to do mobile check-in ahead of time. The app allowed us to request additional items like towels, pillows, shampoo, and more. I didn’t know how it worked and requested a bunch of extra stuff. All the items we requested were available in the room when we arrived, in additions to items we would normally get. I felt sorry that I requested items that I didn’t really need. However, this shows that the hotel treated us seriously.

Amenities

There are an indoor pool and a basic fitness centre, both of which we didn’t use. I saw kids were still playing at the pool when we arrived in the evening. Parking on site is free.

Breakfast is available on the ground floor by the entrance. It was a standard American breakfast buffet with many options, including pancakes, eggs, cereal, yogurt, bread, and more. I think it was quite good. I had multiple plates of food because we didn’t have dinner the previous night.

Conclusion

Fairfield Inn & Suites Seattle Bellevue/Redmond is a decent hotel in the Seattle area. It is simple but comfortable. The price is affordable with parking and breakfast included. I would love to stay in this kind of limited service hotel again.
