Jimoco Cafe & Pasta is a neighbourhood restaurant serving Italian food in Coquitlam. It is only a 5-minute drive away from my house. In late January 2018, we returned to the restaurant for the first time in many months. The food was still as great as it was.
Every time we visit this place, we have to order the seafood risotto with cream sauce. We don’t cook risotto or dishes with cream sauce at home, so it is a great chance to have both at the same time. This time, the risotto was for my mom, and she instantly finished 1/3 of the dish before this photo. It was decent, but we felt that the portion was slightly smaller this time.
I always have a hard time choosing the second pasta. This time, I randomly chose this pasta with soup. I never heard of a pasta “noodle soup” and wondered if it is a traditional Italian cuisine. It was surprisingly delicious! It came with a lot of chili peppers was spicier than I anticipated, but overall I still liked it.
The price at this restaurant is very affordable as most of their pasta dishes are two-for-one. We paid less than $25 for the two pasta dishes. The catch is that it is not a super fancy restaurant, and many of the ingredients are identical. It is nonetheless a nice place to come whenever we don’t want to cook at home.
