[Big Island Day 2] Lapakahi State Historical Park

After visiting 3 beaches, we stopped by Lapakahi State Historical Park. It is super close to the last two parks (Mahukona Beach ParkKapa’a Beach Park).

What we did

We came at the bad time. It was super hot around noon time, so we stayed near the entrance and didn’t walk to the seaside.

We probably missed a lot. If we walked to the seaside, we could’ve seen the remnants of the fishing village from about 700 years ago. I wish I could see houses, burial sites, canoes, and other remains of this abandoned village. The best time to visit again is either in the early mornings or the late afternoons to avoid the burning sun.

I totally need to come back and have a very close look at everything inside the park. It is never a good plan to squeeze many destinations in a day.
